On arrival, Quinta das Laranjeiras took our breath away: stunningly beautiful, practical and beautifully laid out.  Lovely and large, sheltered but sunny swimming pool - most suitable for three young girls with fitted mermaid tails and a four-year-old boy tagging along. When we arrived after travelling, it was a godsend to have a beautifully prepared meal ready for us. In spite of the fact, that there had been a major power cut after a freak storm. Imagine the delight it created to be invited to pick any fruit we fancied, from the multiple fruit trees around the house. Plus, any vegetables from the kitchen garden. It was a great experience for the children to pick avocados, pomegranates, limes, lemons, oranges, quinces, and many other fruits.”
