This exceptionally elegant townhouse located in the historic heart of Olhão, is built around a central courtyard and spread over 3 levels, with a rooftop swimming pool which can be heated, as well as various terraces from where you can enjoy skyline vistas over the surrounding town, all the way to the Ria Formosa estuary and only 15 minutes away from Faro airport with its wide range of airline connections.

Ideal for a unique event or for simply enjoying total relaxation, at Olhão Townhouse guests are able to choose from several add-ons to the rental, ranging from wellness treatments to the services of a chef or a totally bespoke programme, with a dedicated house manager to help ensure that all runs smoothly. There is also a meditation sanctuary room, a games room with a pool table, and a yoga deck with equipment provided.

Recently refurbished using local craftsmen and artisans to keep within the traditional architectural style yet offering contemporary design and comfort, the Olhão Townhouse has thick walls, tiled or wooden floors, vaulted ceilings and ceiling fans, all of which make the summer heat manageable. The two tower suites are reached via the top terrace each benefitting from a private terrace, but are more suited for those who don’t mind a few steps.

We recommend that guests booking 5 nights aim to stay Wednesday to Thursday as flights are cheaper midweek and you can then enjoy the Saturday waterfront market!

WARNING NOTES: This property is not suitable for people with mobility issues or children under the age of 8 years old! In aid of a total switch-off stay, there are no televisions in the property and guests are asked not to use phones or laptops on the terraces and common areas.

The Tower Suites (2nd level)

  • The 2 towers each host an exceptional bedroom and bathroom suite, with private terrace
  • There are a total of 12 double bedroom suites, 9 of which can be made up as twin bed; all the bedrooms have a safe
  • 100% cotton bed linen & cotton luxury light terry bath towels provided; household linen changed 1 x p/week for bed linen & 2 x p/week for bath towels; hand towels changed daily
  • All bathrooms have towel heaters & walk-in rain showers with one suite also featuring a bath; hair dryers provided; organic skin products are also provided for guests enjoyment
  • Under-floor heating throughout the bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas
  • The property interiors are very cool & there are ceiling fans throughout, whilst air-conditioning is available in the Tower Suites and Prep Kitchen only
  • The guest kitchen equipment includes a mini bar, drinking water filter, instant hot water tap, toasters, coffee machines, blenders, ice-cream machines, large fridge-freezer, ovens, gas hob & 2 dishwashers amongst other items

  • Out & About in Olhão: The streets of Olhão are narrow & parking, although free can be limited, so we recommend you book only the smallest car hire type or arrange for an airport transfer then walk everywhere; getting lost in the twisted network of cobbled streets in Olhão is part of the fun! The waterfront is a mere 10-minute walk away from the Townhouse and there are 2 fabulous markets at the water’s edge (fish to the right, fresh fruit/veg & meats to the left) as well as a host of restaurants, cafes and bars
  • Beaches: the islands of Armona, Culatra, Farol and Deserta are easy to get to – you can either take a small ferry which runs multiple times per day during the summer or a river taxi.  They all go from the same place, just 150m east along the waterfront from the market
  • Faro Airport: 15 mins drive away
  • Seville, Spain: 2 hours drive away

  • Non-smoking property; due to the location of the property there are also restrictions on music being played after 10 pm
  • Extra services on request, are subject to availability and should be booked well in advance especially in high season
  • Check-in between 16:00 – 18:00 hours; check-out by 11:00 hours
  • A 50% non-refundable rental deposit is required to secure the dates if a booking is made within 12 months of the check-in date; the balance is due 10 weeks prior to arrival
  • A 25% non-refundable deposit is due to secure the dates if a booking is made more than 12 months of the check-in date with a further 25% non-refundable deposit due 9 months prior to arrival; the balance is due 10 weeks prior to arrival
  • An app is available once you have confirmed your booking to aid you plan your visit!
  • Security deposit of 20% of the total rent (dependant on the event), to be paid in advance of rental; in exceptional cases & when pre-arranged, the security deposit can be paid at the property – this amount minus any applicable charges is refundable at the end of the holiday
