A breathtaking landscape surrounds Douro Haven Villa, which offers guests a true escape away from it all. Sitting at the centre of a 25-acre wine estate on the banks of the Douro River, the property looks towards Mosteiró bridge in the distance. The views, across the river and especially at night, are just magical.

This contemporary architect-designed villa was rebuilt from an old stone ruin in 2023 and fits perfectly into the mountain terraces so typical of the Douro Valley. There are outstanding river vistas from all divisions, with the living room and all 5 en-suite bedrooms opening onto balconies. Another wonderful feature, which will surely create special memories of time spent with family or friends, is the rooftop swimming pool and a fire pit area for stargazing and late-night chats.

Aiding a totally relaxed stay, there is also an indoor jacuzzi and a gym. Other mod-cons include air-conditioning/heating, Smart TV’s in all the bedrooms as well as the living room and WIFI throughout.

A refreshing bottle of "vinho verde" from the villa's vineyard will await your arrival, and a buffet breakfast is served daily. Additional chef services, massages or yoga classes, as well as other holiday extras, can be arranged by the dedicated concierge service.

One week (or longer) rentals will further benefit from a complimentary welcome hamper of local produce and a bottle of port, plus a winery visit and tasting.

Once you manage to drag yourself away from the villa’s spectacular setting, there are walks through vineyard terraces and natural water springs to explore. At Mosteiró train station (6 kms away), you can hop onto a train and take a picturesque ride along the majestic river Douro; or you can take a drive down the scenic National Road 222, following the river as it meanders west to east of Portugal, exploring local towns and traditional villages along the way. River cruises can be booked departing from Pinhão or Regua.

A stay on the Douro Valley goes hand in hand with wine tasting and discovering regional eateries, which will vary from simple to more sophisticated set-ups like the “DOC” by Chef Rui Paula, who has 2 Michelin stars. Recognised for its organic farming and the quality of its white and rosé wines, Quinta da Covela makes for a wonderful visit and wine-tasting experience, only 30 minutes away from Douro Haven Villa.

WARNING NOTES: Due to unprotected drops from various terraced levels, this property is not ideal for toddlers and young children must be supervised.
