Alentejo

We feature both rural and coastal properties with pools in the Alentejo, a region that not only boasts a stunning coastline but also huge inland prairie landscapes reminiscent of the African plains and no less beautiful.

Inland from the beaches, this southern province of Portugal offers plenty to explore and is dotted with sleepy whitewashed villages and medieval castle towns steeped in history and ancient traditions. And the UNESCO World Heritage Sites  Évora and Elvas there are a must-visit.

The Alentejo is also a gourmet and wine lovers paradise, producing some of the most celebrated wines in Portugal. Many of the wineries offer visits and tastings, and some include a restaurant where outstanding local produce is paired with award-winning wines.
