Set as a group of separate cabanas, this Comporta rental villa has a sunny, decked pool terrace overlooking a pastoral setting of rice paddies – just the place for sunbathing and reading a book, or watch the sun go down!

Recreating the local fishermen cabanas but on a grander scale with high ceilings and generous proportions, villa Lagoa Formosa has been built using native building methods and materials. Stylish beach chic interiors complete the look. The main cabana houses an open plan kitchen and dining room, connected by a sheltered dining terrace to the living room, which in turn opens onto the pool terrace. Another cabana houses the master bedroom suite, whilst a third cabana features two en-suite bedrooms. Both the very spacious living room and the master bedroom enjoy panoramic windows over the lagoon, and the other two bedrooms have garden views. The extra cottage provides accommodation for two additional guests with a bit more privacy, as it has its own private kitchen and living room.

Emphasizing the very relaxing setting and mood of villa Lagoa Formosa, the property has WiFi throughout but no TV. There are mosquito nets on most of the windows and the bedrooms have stand up fans to keep the breeze flowing in the summer; whilst under floor heating and a fireplace are available for use during the colder periods.

The all fenced-in garden is planted with grasses, low palms, cactus and indigenous flowering shrubs. Decked pathways take you all around the property, between the cabanas and the guest cottage, or to a corner chill-out seating area under a pergola, specially designed for enjoying the peace and quiet of the surroundings.

Pego and Carvalhal beaches are both located just a walk away from the villa and each host’s great beach bars/restaurants. There is also a surf school in Carvalhal. The local village has a number of simple eateries and bars, as well as shops selling locally caught fish and grown vegetables. The area can also be explored by bike (available for hire locally) or you can go horse riding at “Cavalos na Areia”. Comporta village with its hippy-chic shops and a wider range of restaurants is located 11 kms drive away.

WARNING NOTES: Young children accepted only with a signed disclaimer – parents need to supervise children as there are several unprotected drops from decked terraces onto to a garden planted with cactus’s, and the pool does not have a fence around it.

• No parties for more than full capacity, no pets & strictly no smoking indoors (penalty equal to security deposit)
• Extra services on request are subject to availability and should be booked well in advance especially in high season; no credit cards accepted locally, only cash
• Non-refundable rental deposit of 30% required to reserve the property
• Rental balance due 6 weeks prior to start date of rental, not refundable after this date
• Security deposit of €2,000 to be paid in advance of rental – this amount minus any applicable charges is refundable at the end of the holiday
