Santa Mafalda has been designed for the full enjoyment of the very special landscape that surrounds it, with views over olive trees and vineyard terraces, slopping all the way down to the river Douro. In the evening this luxury Douro villa transforms into something quite magical – the infinity swimming pool is flood-lit, the Jacuzzi ceiling is lit-up with tiny stars and you look onto to the faint twinkling lights of distant villages.

Breakfast is included daily and cook service is available on request. For other holiday extras, the villa provides a concierge service to make all your local arrangements and bookings.

One week (or longer) rentals also benefit from a complimentary “local gastronomy” meal, a visit and tasting at one of the Port-producing Quintas, and weather permitting, a vineyard terraces picnic plus a two-hour Rabelo boat ride on the Douro, as well as other offers.

The villa’s panoramic terraces over the Douro Valley and River are perfect for “al fresco” dining and there is a spacious games room for guests to enjoy on the ground floor. All 4 en-suite double bedrooms enjoy river views. Slate (local to the Douro), glass and wood have been used liberally at Santa Mafalda, giving the villa a modern, warm and open feel. An outdoor chill-out area amidst vineyards and olive trees, provides the ideal set up for a private wine tasting or just somewhere to relax with a book and a glass of port in hand.

WARNING NOTES: Due to unprotected drops from the various terraced levels, this property is not ideal for toddlers and young children must be supervised.
