“Styled as an ode to the ocean, this spacious and peaceful villa with private pool and decked terrace surrounded by lush greenery, is located within walking distance to the beach.

Casa da Baleia is spacious beach villa totaling 268 sq metres and offering a relaxed vibe, perfect for holiday get-togethers with family or friends, just 10 minutes walk away to Praia do Pego.

Set within a private and peaceful condominium with other similar villas nearby, the villa is made up of a couple of traditional cabana-style buildings with beamed ceilings and thatched roofs, sitting atop raised sand dunes planted with lush flowering shrubs, indigenous grasses and shady trees.

The interiors include many marine elements, enhancing the owner’s love of the ocean. There are light shades made of lobster traps and a sperm whale jawbone takes pride of place on the main sitting room wall; whilst the opposite wall features a custom-painted fresco highlighting the ochres, beiges and soft brown colours typical of Comporta.

The property has a smart TV and Wi-Fi is available throughout. Ceiling/electric fans are available in all the main rooms and there is mosquito netting on all the windows. There are also several bikes and yoga mats available for guests to use.

Decked pathways run all around the property and between pines, fig and olive trees with a charming swimming pool which can be heated on request and a decked terrace, framed by the lush landscaped garden. Here and there, there are serene spots to just sit and chill-out with a book or a glass of chilled regional white wine!

Comporta’s spectacular sunsets can be enjoyed with a local bottle of wine at a local beach bar and there are a number of restaurants and bars nearby you can walk to. The area is also great for exploring by bike and there is a surf school at Carvalhal beach, or you can go horse riding at “Cavalos na Areia”. Comporta village with its hippy-chic shops and a wider range of restaurants is located 11 kms drive away.

WARNING NOTES: There are some drops from the pool area and decking onto sand or plants, so toddlers need to be supervised.

Main House

  • A super-sized open-plan sitting-dining room with open fireplace and kitchen opening onto a covered outdoor sitting and dining terrace. Separate breakfast terrace. Guest WC.
  • At a loft level above the kitchen, there is a small en-suite double bedroom (bed size 140×200 cm) with shower bathroom.

  • En-suite Master bedroom (bed size 180×200 cms) with shower bathroom and a private shaded deck area.

  • Double bedroom (bed size 160×200 cms) and twin bedrooms (2 beds of 90×200 cms) sharing a shower bathroom and each with their own private shaded deck area.

  • En-suite double bedroom (bed size 160×200 cms) with shower bathroom, a mezzanine level lounge and a private shaded deck area.
  • Bedroom & bathroom linen is changed once a week

  • Minimum 1-week rentals apply between 15 June – 15 September with Saturday changeovers preferred; minimum 4-night rentals apply other periods with flexible changeovers
  • For 6 guest stay, use of number of bedrooms will be restricted / Discount incentives for extended stays on request
  • Check-in after 16:00 hours & check-out before 10:00 hours
  • No parties for more than full capacity, not pets & strictly no smoking indoors (penalty equal to security deposit)
  • Extra services are subject to availability and should be booked well in advance especially in high season; no credit cards accepted locally, only cash
  • Non-refundable rental deposit of 30% required to reserve the property
  • Special “Covid19 Pandemic” flexi terms up to 9 weeks before the start of the rental date – option of changing to alternative dates up to the end of 2021, free of charge and subject to availability; although we recommend that you also be covered by Covid 19 related insurance similar to
  • Rental balance due 6 weeks prior to start date of rental
  • Security deposit of €3,000 to be paid in advance of rental; in exceptional cases & when pre-arranged, the security deposit can be paid at the property – this amount minus any applicable charges is refundable at the end of the holiday
