Converted to a very high standard, Douro Villa II is a well-equipped family villa for 8 guests (+3 on request) spread over 2 levels. Breakfast is included daily and cook service is available on request. Modern day conveniences such as local mobile and a tablet are also supplied for guests to use as a reference guide to explore the region.

Indoors, the villa features collected pieces of a time gone by, when it was an old village schoolhouse. The villa has 4 en-suite bedrooms, disabled facilities and a games room. The lawn garden and pool, which can be heated, enjoy views over Douro Valley vineyards and olive groves.  

Right next-door is striking Douro Villa I for 6 + 2 guests – both properties can be rented for two parties wanting to travel together (benefitting from a special discount), yet retain some degree of independence.

The Douro is a wonderful location to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life – these villas are located on the edge of a very peaceful rural hamlet, where the most exciting moment of the day is the arrival of the bread delivery van in the morning!

Included in one week rentals (or longer) at modern Douro Villa II, are added value extras such as a complimentary meal by a private chef or a 3-hour river boat tour with picnic on board, plus another “local gastronomy” meal and a visit to one of the Port producing Quintas with wine tasting. The excellent and friendly staff speak Portuguese, French and English and as well as looking after your daily needs, double up as local tour guides or babysit on request.

Supplement of €375 p/person p/week or €40 p/person p/night, paid locally


Joint Douro Villa I & Douro Villa II special: rent these 2 villas together for a minimum of 1 week with 5% discount (a dining table and tableware for up to 16 guests is available on request).  


  • Minimum 1 week rental during July & August with Saturday change-overs preferred; minimum 3-night rentals accepted other periods
  • Check-in after 16:00 hours; check-out before 11:00 hours
  • No parties for more than full capacity, no pets & strictly no smoking indoors (penalty equal to security deposit)
  • Extra services are subject to availability and should be booked well in advance especially in high season; no credit cards accepted locally, only cash
  • Non-refundable rental deposit of 30% required to reserve the property
  •  Rental balance due 6 weeks prior to start date of rental, not refundable after this date
  • Security deposit of €250 to be handed in at the property – this amount minus any applicable charges is refundable at the end of the holiday
